Thanks man, this is super useful. Looking forward to the 9.5.2 3dm2 package, as 3ware's rubbish Java installer just won't install on my machine for some reason...
Martin - I found when I was installing 3DM2 manually (before I found Jonas' lovely packages) that I had to install the psmisc package before running the 3DM2 install -- their installer relies on the use of the 'killall' utility.
Just dropped by to say... these binaries are super-useful!
Used one when installing a 3Ware 9690SA-8I into a server last year And now there's updated firmware and an updated binary as well... Keep up the work... IT IS REALLY APPRECIATED!!! Thanks, B
Thanks, these are really useful!
I was wondering if you you any tips for putting together a script that would detect a (potential) problem with the RAID and send an email. I know how to periodically run the CLI and get its output, scan its output, and decide whether to send an email or not. But I don't know what to scan for. I would like to detect when something has happened that requires manual intervention, like a drive failure. Is periodically running "tw_cli show alarms" and mailing myself the output if there is anything below the headers adequate? Or "tw_cli show events"? The box I'm running on is in a collocation facility, so I can't test by yanking drives out and seeing what happens. Is there any way to test drive failure and alerts remotely? Thanks for any advice! ----Scott. |
I have updated my 3Ware 3dm2 debian packages. Now version 9.5.2 is available on jonas.genannt.name. The CLI tools 9.5.2 are also available. Please have a look here. An Debian Repository is also available.
