Xen - error: (22, 'Invalid argument')

If you want to start an DomU with xm create foo.bar.domain and you get the following output:
error: (22, 'Invalid argument')

I have found the following two possible problems:

  • DomU kernel has got no Xen support

  • DomU kernel uses PAE; hypervisor and Dom0 kernel does not support PAE
