Thank you for your 3DM2 packages, especially the 64 bit versions. They are very useful.
Although my opinion is that 3ware should take care of those packages ...
Hi Jonas, thanks for your work, your packages are very useful for me.
Last 6 months I used without problems 3ware-binary-3dm2 and 3ware-cli-binary on two servers with Debian Etch i386. But now I have compiled a 64-bit kernel in both servers, keeping Debian Etch i386, and I get errors. 3dm2 runs, but on its website said: NO CONTROLLERS tw_cli said: Error: (CLI:094) Invalid OS architecture for the application. I got one tw_cli that works in http://www.3ware.com/download/Escalade9690SA-Series/9.5.1.1/tw_cli-linux-x86_64-9.5.1.1.tgz But can't install 3DM2_CLI-Linux-x86-9.5.1.1.tgz or 3DM2_CLI-Linux-x86_64-9.5.1.1.tgz from 3ware website. ./setupLinux_x86.bin -console 3ware Disk Management Tools - InstallShield Wizard This installer contains software for Linux on x86. Your system is running Linux on unknown. The installer will now exit Do you know any way to run 3dm2 on my mixed 32/64bit enviroment?. Now is not possible for me to migrate to Debian Etch amd64, servers are far away (2,000 kilometers away). Thanks in advance.
I have founded a simple solution
dpkg --force-architecture -i 3ware-3dm2-binary_9.5.1.1-1duo1_amd64.deb 3ware-cli-binary_9.5.1-1duo1_amd64.deb Simple and easy, but I have taken several hours to discover that option dpkg salud! Santi
I just filed a bug report too, because the current version still sucks. And for my your deb packages don't work on my RHEL machine
Men, why do they put it in mega java installer package, in the past it was just a good old bash script.
Very useful indeed! I don't get it either: why 3ware/AMCC insists on packaging the 3DM tool with installer that works equally bad on all platforms?
I spotted a problem in one of you recent packages though: ~# tw_cli show version CLI Version = 2.00.08.007 API Version = 2.05.00.007 ~/3ware/9.3.0.8# ./tw_cli show version CLI Version = 2.00.08.008 API Version = 2.05.00.009 The .007 version of tw_cli that you include in 3ware-cli-binary 9.5.1-1duo1 contains a bug that can cause reordering of multiple controllers, so that "tw_cli maint deleteunit c0 u0" can turn like "tw_cli maint deleteunit c1 u0". And that's not good.
Thank you! I'm running this on Debian lenny for amd64 and it works great. I still haven't figured out how to get email to work properly but at least I can admin my card now.
Thank you again!
Thanks a lot for the 3ware packages, Jonas. I first used the 32 bit 3dm package several months ago. Now that I am setting up a 64 bit server, I again had need for the correct package and, sure enough, you had one. I appreciate it.
Jake PS I originally tried the software/instructions provided by 3ware but had no luck, so thanks again for your work. |
